The Future "Civilization of Illiteracy"
There are many indications that
the era of the last 5.000 years history of dominance of written Symbolic
Intelligence is coming to a close. The new era will be a "civilization of
illiteracy" (Nadin).
In other words, it will be
dependent on neuronal factor engineering to a much larger extent than before.
Therefore it is imperative that the whole of civilizatory symbolic
infrastructures of the past era be revised and if it needs to, re-organized and
re-tooled.
